Università degli Studi di Palermo, Department of Engineering, Italy
I am an Assistant Professor (RTD-A) in the Department of Engineering at the University of Palermo, Italy. Currently, I am a member of the Networking and Distributed Systems research group.
I got my Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering in 2019, 2021, and 2025, respectively, and in 2023 I have been a visiting researcher under the guidance of Prof. Sajal K. Das in Computer Science at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, United States.
My research interests lie at the intersection of cybersecurity, distributed systems, and artificial intelligence. I focus extensively on machine learning applications in decentralized environments, concentrating on topics such as IoT intrusion detection systems, privacy-preserving federated learning, and mobile malware mitigation under concept drift.
For more information on my research, please read the publications page, where you can find a comprehensive list of my research papers and articles, and the projects page, where you can find more details about my ongoing and completed research projects.
On top of research, I am also passionate about teaching and mentoring students. By visiting the teaching page, you can find information about the courses I have taught and the master’s thesis I have supervised.
